Trans Africa West Coast
 

Hi Guys,

I'm about 2 weeks away from leaving the UK to tackle Africa via the west on a 650 dakar.

My Route

Giving myself about 5 months to do it. Just wondering if anybody is going to be in the area doing roughly the same route?

Also where are the big meeting points for other over landers along the route?

Im also leaving (Denmark) in two weeks on a XT600 for West African trip..
I dont have a fixed route - but more or less same route as you - just including Ivory Coast and Ghana

Great. Might meet along the way. My route not really set in stone, but I was very keen to see if I can make it up to Timbuktu, and therefore skipping ivory coast. How is the preparation going?

Timbuktu is sort of on my wish list also - so lets see.
To be honest i haven't been doing a lot of route planing for this trip - my experince so fare traveling on motorbike - is that i have a general direction and talk to other travelers down the road.

I did Copenhagen/Bangkok and Copenhagen/Egypt before....

My planing is on schedule - almost just waiting to see the Carnet arriving in the mailbox.

Hopefully see you down the (dusty) road.
