uk to the cape 2011
hi all,
thanks to alot of reseach on this site i am now well into the planning/saving stages of my trip down the east coast of africa. thus far, my route is as follows;- tunisia-lybia-egypt-sudan-ethiopia-kenya-tanzania-zambia-botswana-SA im bloody excited, and still full of motivation. however, i still cant find anyone to ride with. So even if you are only thinking about doing this trip next year, in a motor or on a bike, it would be great to hear from you. i may even be able to help you plan and prepare yours Lorry |
Hey,
I'm also going for Cape Town around October 2011. I'm going along the west coast though, I have to pass through Togo. Visiting someone I know who lives there. Perhaps we could ride together so long as our routes go in the same direction. Grtz |
hi pwyll
firstly that give a man a fire thing is classic! have you planned the whole route yet? are you going all the way down the west coast or cutting across at some point. i started planning for the west originally because i know people in ghana, but it didnt seem possible (or safe. drc, angola etc) so switched across, it appears to be the more travelled route down. im going on a xt 600, what are you ridding? |
Hey I haven't planned the whole route yet. But indeed the prospect op riding through Congo and Angola doesn't please me neither. Passing around it or taking a boat around it seems like a good idea. I don't know if the Central African Republic is a good idea. From there to Kenya and further down.
I'm riding a BMW R80GS. I still have to finish my house and sell it though. How far are you in your planning? Grtz P.s.: The fire joke is one by Terry Pratchett. Hilarious books. |
