US Route 50 west to east
 

Planning on riding across the U.S. in late May/early June following US Route 50 all the way - Half Moon Bay California to Ocean City Maryland. Has anyone done it and if so, what are the "must see things" along the way? So far all I've included is a ride up Pikes Peak which isn't too far off the route, then north back to Canada and a visit to Niagara Falls. Going to try and camp at least half of the time. Thoughts?

Was a good trip. Rode up Pikes on a busy Sunday, couldn't avoid it. US Route 50 has a lot of history and is not unlike many parts of Route 66. As a Trans America Route, I highly recommend it. The bridge over the Chesapeake Bay was pretty cool. I was blessed with great weather for almost all of it.
