Week of trails & twisties in The Pyrenees Sep 2016?
PLEASE SEE POST AT END OF THREAD AS PLANS HAVE CHANGED DUE TO CHANGE OF BIKE. THANKS. Hi all, anyone fancy a week’s trails & twisties in the Pyrenees around Andorra in September 2016? I know it’s a long way off, but if I get a mental booking with myself now things such as family, work etc will not get in the way! (much) Plus it gives me something to prepare and look forward to. Brief idea is to ride down from Dieppe (after Newhaven/Dieppe ferry) to hopefully Toulouse, but that may change as that is a long old day in the saddle. From there I would like to head into the mountains and hopefully do some of the smugglers and farmers trails that are dotted all over the area around Andorra and Northern Spain soaking up the scenery, food and wine. Would like to ‘wild’ camp at some point in the mountains, if only 1 night, but I do like a hotel. Trails would be a gentle, scenery admiring affair rather than a berm bashing blast as I am no Tony Cairoli and my bike is no Husaberg (It’s actually a KLE500). Wind up getting the slow boat back from Santander/Bilbao to Portsmouth (done this a few times alone, I found it incredibly boring, hence only doing 1 leg of the journey) All this is open to change as it would be great to have some like- minded company to see the sights and enjoy the ride. I am based in Battle, East Sussex, 47 and chilled.

Hi JL, sounds good. I loved Morocco too. Someone with knowledge of trails would be great. As I said it is a while off yet, but great to get interest. I am a light travelling person who believes in a decent roll dry bag for everything, with as you say a small tank bag. Will keep checking the post. Thanks

My plans have changed somewhat due to a change of bike. I am now the proud owner of a Honda XR600R (an old one too!) so my motorway miles are limited. I shall be getting the slow boat from Portsmouth to Santander on Sept 27th & heading back the same way Oct 4th. Hope to get down to Ainsa & explore the trails from there. Maybe a night or 2 camping, but I do like a shower & cold beers after a hard day riding! So any knowledge of trails/hotels in the area would be greatly appreciated. Anyone interested in joining me please get in touch. It will be a gentle affair, I'm no berm bashing off road God, just like to explore a bit off the tarmac.
