Africa land rover insurance - depart 5th jan 2015!!
 

Hello Hubbsters,

We are departing UK on 5th Jan with Land Rover Defender 110 expedition kitted for 1 year East to Southern Africa overland. We want UK based insurance against vehicle loss. Campbell Irvine offered us £966 GBP for 1 year for Accidental Damage Fire & Theft. Vehicle worth +/-£8,000 GBP (equip / kit would take value up but not covered anyway). We will be getting a COMESA 3rd party insurance card on arrival in Kenya (container from UK) then heading south.

1) Do they pay out?
2) Is this worth it?
3) Any different recommendations for a UK registered vehicle travelling on carnet?
4) We understand Campbell Irvine is our only reputable UK option - is this correct?
5) any other tips / advice - is this worth it?
