another carnet question
I know that a carnet is not required for Central and South America. However, i was wondering if having one would make the various border crossings any easier by simplifying the paperwork.

North and South and Central America - Yes it makes it easier - in some countries - at most, they'll just toss it back at you, they don't use it at all. Mostly they put a stamp in your passport so you don't leave without the bike. An eminently sensible and simple procedure.
In those countries that WILL use it, yes it's a little easier - 20 minutes less and $5-10 less - more or less. NOT worth the aggro and expense of getting it in the first place. |
thanks...
