Aus to India overland, home going oneway trip! Carnet or Export license?

I have decided to pack up Melbourne and head home to Bangalore on a motorbike, after 15 years of living in Melbourne.
I'm an Aus citizen with OCI (Overseas Citizen of India Status). Having few riding experience in Enfield, i just brought a near new Honda CRF250L.
Need your advise on the paperwork i need to get out of Australia and arrive in India. Planning to register locally, once i enter India/home. Much appreciated in advance.

I took a Landcruiser out of oz on a Carnet and imported it into south Africa a few years later. My carnet was released in oz after providing proof of all paperwork complete and all duties paid. Not sure if I was suppose to do anything else on the oz side, bit I didn't.

Pumbaa, thank you for that. That gives me an idea. There might be a chance doing the same for India.
I better get start working on carnet!

carnet

We took 2 Aussie registered bikes and rode then to the UK via India and other places. You'll get out of Oz easily (we shipped from Darwin to Singapore) but need the carnet fro Singapore & Malaysia. I believe you can do Thailand without but that's a bit academic really. We flew the bikes to Nepal and gain you can do this not on a carnet. Once we finally got to the UK we formally imported and discharged the carnet with full refund.

Good luck
