Hi everyone,I'm planning a trip from Australia to France but I don't really now where to start and still looking for answers to some questions.
Do I need to have rego outside of Australia or just an travel insurance would do? Can I keep the bike in France as I'm not going back to Australia? How it works to cross European borders.Im French but the bike gonna be Australian.. Anyone we the same situation in past? All advices are welcome. Thank you so much Valentin Sent from my CPH1725 using Tapatalk |
Hi Valentin,
Your comprehensive insurance is not valid outside of Australia. Travel insurance is for sure suggested to get at home. Be very careful to read the fine print of all the providers that are usually using Allianz or Lloyd as underwriter. These are our suggestions: https://www.aussietravelcover.com.au/atc https://www.worldcare.com.au/ https://www.travelinsurancedirect.co...FUgGvAodHPwP5Q You can keep foreign registered vehicle in Europe for max of 1 year legally after that it should be imported. As there is no computer controlled flow at the moment and nobody cares at the moment you’re good to keep the bike in Europe for longer time. For yourself you can spend max 90 days inside EU borders after which you need to go out for 90 days to be able to spend another stint of 90 days. Being close to countries outside Schengen zone helps with that part.
