Big Trip Insurance - Africa & Latin America
 

Hi everyone,

This is my first time posting on Horizons Unlimited but was wondering if anyone could offer some advice?

I am planning a trip from my home in London England, down through Europe, all the way through Africa to Cape Town, where I will ship my bike (and fly myself) to Buenos Aires, riding up Latin America, hopefully reaching Mexico where I'll return to the UK.

The two question I'd like answering are:

1. Is it better (or even possible) to get one comprehensive insurance package to cover my whole trip - 18 months in 3, maybe 4 continents, for myself, my bike & possessions - or do I need to shop around and get different policies for medical, bike, possessions, etc. and for different continents?

2. Has anyone done a similar trip recently or can anyone take a punt at roughly how much my insurance will cost?
