Bike Insurance in Africa
Hello,
I am travelling from Ghana to London on a second-hand (and cheap when new) Ghanaian registered bike. The value of the bike right now is c. £300. I have an ECOWAS brown card and will be buying insurance at the boarder for countries where the ECOWAS insurance is not valid (e.g. Mauritania and Morocco). However, I'm not sure whether I can buy insurance on the boarder in Spain and France? With this in mind, I was planning to buy some third-party European insurance? However, I was also looking for input on whether people think I should also buy global insurance. Not to cover my own bike (given it's value, if it breaks or is stolen I will just write that cost off). However, more to cover any accidents (which I hope will not happen) I could have with third parties. All ideas/help appreciated. Thanks |
If you use the search facility on the top right you should find a link to an all Europe green card insurance provider who will cover your bike all the way home from Spain. I am puzzled by your second point, that is what a green card will cover you for, damage to other people and their property.
