Buying in Malaysia selling in Laos
 

Hello,

I am planning my first bike trip around SE Asia. After some research is seems that Malaysia is the easiest to legally register a motorcycle in my name. My plan is to move up through Thailand, into Cambodia, and ending in Laos. I am curious if people have any insight into if I will be able to sell the bike in Laos (rather than having to return to Malaysia). What any ramifications would be, and any idea what price I could expect as it.

There are a few web sites with prices but call before you go as the one I found was not updated . Prices did not seem to vary much on the model we chose(yamaha fz150-9700 ringit OTD).We just left it with family to continue early next year in the direction you are going,also thinking of trucking to India thru burma, then over to Sri Lanka then? AS for the trucking I donot have any info on that yet.Surely you could store the bike for other trips cheaply.
