carnet de passage
Hi everybody,
We wanna start our trip true S-America in january'2002.I'll ship the bike from Antwerp(Belgium) to Buenos Aires,an Africa Twin.Do I need a carnet these days to enter Argentina and what about the rest of SA?Anybody who has experiences on this topic in the last two years, any info welcome! Thanks a lot already! |
Hi Chris
No carnet is needed to enter Argentina, nor for any country in South America except Ecuador. Ecuador seems to require it for arrival by air, not by land or sea. No, that doesn't make sense, but there you are! A carnet will simplify paperwork for all these countries, though. "Getting a Carnet de Passage in Belgium is now possible at Royal Automobile Club De Belgique Aarlenstraat 53 bus 3 1040 Brussels Belgium Tel +32 (0) 2-2870911 www.racb.com autoclub@racb.com Cost is 5000 BEF They told me that they only deliver carnets to Belgian people with a vehicle registered in Belgium."
