Carnet de Passage Belgium -> South America
 

September I am leaving for South America, gonna travel through Chili, Argentine, Bolivie and Peru. Taking my motorbike from Belgium to Chili (Valparaiso) BUT what about the Carnet de Passage ? So many contradictory information ; do I need it for South America, yes or no? Anybody who can help me on this ?
Looking at some official documents from the motorclub Germany or Belgium, you need it for South America.

No Carnet required from Alaska to Tierra del Fuego. BTW it´s Chile, Argentina and Bolivia.

thanks sanderd, as you see a lot of contradictory information, no clue yet what I am gonna do, get one or don't get one and take the risk
anybody of you have been stopped at a country or entering Chili when not having a carnet de passage ?
