Carnet de Passage: Importing your motorbike temporarily
 

Hello all,
In September I'm planning a trip round the Black Sea and the Caucasus. I'm planning to cross the following states:

Turkey
Georgia
Armenia
Azerbaijan
Russia
Ukraine

the below are optional:
Moldova
Romania
Bulgaria

Searching the HU forum it seems like the carnet de passage is not required in any of these states and that in the majority you'll simply need to pay a fee for a temporary registration at the border crossing, get said registration stamped on your passport and off you go.
I tried to get in touch with the various embassies to confirm if it was the case, but did not receive an answer in 2 weeks.
Did anybody go to the above countries ? What's the procedure that will allow me to cross the various borders with my bike ?
