carnet for americas
Gidday companeros,
I have a Brasilian friend who wants to travel from Ushuaia to Alaska starting next month. Will he need a Carnet de Passage and where can he get one? The brasilian Automobile Association cant help. Cheers, d |
He shouldn't need a carnet at all. The only country that requires a carnet is Ecuador, and then only if you fly in or seafreight in. At the Ecuador land borders it's not needed.
BTW, send me his name and info for the ezine! (Go to the http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/form/feedback.shtml page.) ------------------ Grant Johnson Share the Dream! at: www.HorizonsUnlimited.com |
Greg Frazier has a good book out called RIDING SOUTH. It has a lot of good advice on touring through Central and South America.
In it he says that he rode all throughout Latin America without requiring vehicle insurance or a carnet. ------------------ Bruce Clarke brclarke@islandnet.com www.islandnet.com/~brclarke |

Ditto. Even though I flew into Ecuador and technically I needed one, I payed someone to make that requirement go away.
