Nope, you have to do and pay whatever the AA concerned demands.

Kiwiron - not sure that's necessarily true! Only reason I question it is because I'm just applying for my carnet for Africa through the ADAC in Munich and I live, and my vehicle is registred in the UK.

They charge much less than the RAC in the UK! Have a look at their website, its all converted in English for us lazy Brits too.
