Carnet issues in malaysian borneo - help
Hi,
I'm hopefully taking a break from the travels and working in malaysian Borneo for a year or 2. I know in mainland malaysia you can keep a bike there as long as you have a valid carnet. I heard that this may not be possible for borneo and that they operate a system similar to Thailand. Does anyone know if this is true or have a work around so i can keep the bike in borneo while i'm working? Thanks Russ |
Hi Russ, we spend some time in both Sabah and Sarawak, and the carnets were stamped exactly the same as in mainland Malaysia, we were not given the white piece of paper which only lasts for a month or two as you do in Thailand.
Maybe the Automobile Association of Malaysia can clarify for you. Automobile Association of Malaysia |
Thanks for the info. I've actually solved the problem as i'm planning to work in mainland malaysia now. Thanks anyway russ |
