Carnet needed riding from SA to Tanzania?
 

Title says it all, do you need a carnet for riding an EU registered bike from South Africa to Tanzania (going through Botswana, Zimbabwe and Zambia)? Thanks.

Nope, done with semi-regularity by wandering foreign overland bikers.

Hi Montain Man, we talked some time ago. Finally going to RSA in Oct. with son fo 4.5 months journey in southern and eastern Africa, looping Lake Victoria and back to SA via. Namibia. We are buying used dual purpose bikes in RSA and going to wing it with carnet. Sounds like this is doable with possible exception of Kenya. Know anything about that?
