Carnet out of Oz with 'Club Plates'?
I'm about to apply for a carnet using a bike on club or 'red plates' from Australia.
Anybody done it? I can't see a problem, but would like to hear from someones who's done it........ or been knocked back |
Send Peppina Sobara an email and ask her - she is very quick to reply normally. On the Aussie CdP application there is mention of vehicles more than 30 years old (don't know if this is applicable to you - just saw it there).

Are not club plates limited to club runs and the occasional 'tuning trip'? Think that is the case for green plates (NSW older vehicle plates) ...
You may need to get 'normal' rego if the red plates limit your use ... |
I'm currently awaiting its arrival. There didn't seem to be issue with the club plate. I'll take my log book and fill it diligently.
I had to get clearance to take my 30 year old 'treasure' out of Oz. Easy to get, but a pain to find the Govt. department to issue it. Bike goes into the box to be shipped to Athens in a few weeks. The ride to Vladivostok should sort me and the bike out. paul |
