Carnet Syria and Jordan.
Officialy a carnet is required to enter Syria and Jordan by motorcycle, as was told by the respective embassies in Belgium. However I read in the travel guide 'Le Routard' that one can in fact easely pass the border without this document. Does someone have any recent practical experience that confirms this information?

Hi ;
I pasted through both countries in April 2002 and nobody asked me about carnet.I hope nothing has changed. |
I am in Lebanon now passed through Siria and be in Jordan in a few days time,
For siria I got my carnet stamped and also for lebanon, BUT you dont need it, you will get can get a transit paper at the border for which you pay ofcoarse! And one good thing, the siria lebanon bordercrossing is the best I had till now! Paying NOTHING, and a visa for free also for up to 3 month. Guy if your travelling allong this these counties pay a visit to Leb. also its great out here! ------------------ CU under the Cu Frank http://www.crossing-africa.com .:.
