Carnet update for Syria/Jordan required
 

Hi
I'm sure there is a number of folks soon to travel out on the Turkey/Syria/Jordan route.
Can anyone give a definitive recent account of whether you need a carnet for these crossings.
Or is it possible to pay an import tax at the borders for the duration of your stay/transit?

Visa for UK residents seems to be;
Jordan at the border
Syria from the consulate in UK
