Carnets in Europe?
Do I need a carnet for Europe with a Hong Kong registered bike? Please let me know
|
No. No bike or car needs a Carnet for the EU countries of Europe.

Carnets for which countries
As Dave replied already: no carnet necessary for Europe. Click on the following link to show you the countries that expect carnets: http://www.adac.de/images/L%C3%A4nde...tcm8-80801.pdf
Unfortunately only in German, but if you scroll down the states are marked YELLOW which require a carnet. For the GREEN countries a carnet basically isn't necessary, but simplifies temporary imports. Hans |
What do the WHITE countries signify?
|
Somewhere in this forum I read that no carnet card required in any south american or central american country. can anyone clarify this?

A carnet is not required for SA or CA. Hey Hans. Good to see you're still about. Hope life is treating you good in your part of the world! Nathan |

Hej,
Just started planning my trip through SA and indeed several messages no 'Carnet the passage' needed but got a confirmation through official governement with a link : http://www.adac.de/images/L%C3%A4nde...tcm8-83881.pdf (same link as posted before) where indeed it says that you need a carnet for most of SA countries, except Brazil not required. anybody more information on this ; contradictory information on this so ? thanks, Pascale |
