When traveling to Iran, Pakistan,India and further East, what would be best to take along: US Dollars or Euro's? (Or Both?)

Both of them are acceptable but they prefer dollars. I have with me both of them.

No ATM in Iran
 

Keep in mind that there are NO ATM's in Iran. So bring enough money
with you to make it to Pakistan's Quetta (There they have ATM's again).

Strangely enough they like the U$ in Iran. Actually they also like Coca Cola,
even have their own factory in Esfahan. For the rest anything US is not much
apriciated ;)

Pakistan and Idia have ATM's so no need to bring loads of cash.

One further thing to keep in mind: If your U$ bills have even the slightest tear,
they are useless. No one will accept them.
Best thing to do is exchange all the rials you need at the Turkish border (from
Turkish liras). Keep in mind that fuel (your major cost) is extremely cheap!:clap:

As far as local curency is concerned, India is also a bit fussy about damaged
bills, but only at the edge. A hole is no problem. Refuse them! And if they come
damaged from a ATM, enter the bank and exchange them. Make a
scene :taz: if nesecary, but don't accept them!
