Im planning New Zealand to Scotland and as this will be one way , do I realy need a carnet ?

Has anyone done a trip without a carnet without returning to the country of departure ?

Should I have a carnet and then discharge it in UK ?

Depends on your route I think... If especially India & Pakistan will be on your route, then the answer is: you will need a carnet. Indonesia and Iran also highly likely. Malaysia is officially a carnet-country, but maybe do-able without it.

If you permanently import a vehicle, you probably have to pay taxes & duties to that country. The carnet makes it possible to _temporarily_ import it without having to pay these.
