DRC transit visa in Brazzaville???
I thought you could get a transit visa for DRC in Brazza but now Im confused. Anybody with up to date information on this? I do Have my Angola one, secured in Abuja.
Thanks |
I seem to remember that you can pick up your DRC visa in Kinshasa once you have crossed the river. You already have the Angola visa, which I believe was one of the requirements of getting the DRC visa upon arrival via ferry. That's at least how it worked coming north, there is so much traffic on the standard triver crossing that you pick up your Congo-Brazza visa on arrival in Brazzaville if you don't already have it. I'm assuming that if the normal ferry is still not running, the privateers still dump you off at the same dock on the Kinshasa side.

Ok. sounds good, but if i cant get the DRC when i get into Kinshasa, it could be a long way back. How recent is the info?
Funny how travel through Africa is dominated by finding the next visa. Are you still on the road? Darren |
Aye, the visa dance is an ongoing source of worry. The border info was as of last June. If you are looking for up to date info, hopefully some HU members have been heading south recently and will post their experiences. You can also try to contact the Hotel Hippocampe in Brazza. Many overlanders stop there on their way north or south and the owner, a french guy, would would be aware if there has been any changes. Great place to stop and load up on food as well.
