Duplicate Passport?
 

Hi All

We're off on our big trip in November and want to take duplicate passports with us so we can send one off with a visa application when requested but still have one with us for boarder crossings in the meantime.

The UK passport office says we can only have one if we are travelling on business for a UK company - we can't have a duplicate if we're on a pleasure trip (as they see it). We can't just say we're travelling on business incase they check up.

Before we start working our way up the Passport Office chain of comand does anyone have any experiance of getting round this?

We can ofcourse 'just manage' but it would be the ideal to have 2 passports.

I wanted two passports, which to be honest has only been of very limited use anyway, but i simply reported my original one "stolen" and simply applied for a replacement passport from the post office.
