ECOWAS brown card
 

I'm trying to get more information on the ECOWAS brown card insurance - is there any way I can purchase it in the UK, or do I need to get it in the first ECOWAS member state that I enter (Mali)?

We got our "Brown Card" when we got to Bamako from Mauritania. A couple of cops asked for it on the way down from the border, but were generally satisfied when we said we'd get it in the capitol. The thing was that it was a saterday+sunday, and thus non of the insurance offices were open in the towns on our drive from the border. We ended up just asking a taxidriver in Bamako where he went for his insurance and got it there.
