Enter Iran on export plates?
 

Hi,

One vehicle in our group in China just now is considering going through Iran later this year.

They have a carnet but are on (expired) export plates from Germany. They know from experience it's not possible (or maybe too much hard work and money) to get into Russia with these plates.
Does anyone know the situation in Iran? Is it possible or a massive hassle and costly?

How did the vehicle in your group on export plates end up going with entry into Iran? Has travelling on expired German export plates been an issue? I'm looking to do the same later this year. Thanks in advance for any info/advice.

Yes, they got in and out on export plates!
It didn't seem to be a problem. The old carnet had expired and I presume they got a new one: not sure there.
