Entering the UK with Chinese bike
 

Looking for some clarity on this one......

UK passport holder but resident in Cambodia. Will be entering the UK on a Chinese plates. Should it be a straight forward process?


Am I best to enter UK as a non Uk resident or as a Uk resident? I plan to leave the bike for several months once arriving. 6 months can be extended to 12?

Looking at doing the same thing with a bike in Saudi Arabian plates (only a U.K. passport holder though), my plan is to officially import the bike to the UK.

Will be watching with interest.

How did you get on? Planning on doing this with a chinese motorcycle registered in Ivory Coast.

Was it easy to find insurance? What happened at the border?
