Ethiopia Visa for Canadian
I had my girlfriend call the embassy in Toronto, so I'm trying to clear this up. I also found some information on the website.
She was told that the visa is valid for 6 months from the date of issue, and that it must be obtained in Canada. It will take us at least 10 months to get to Ethiopia. By that time, our visas will be expired. What are our options? |
Hey Rock,
Depends on where you are coming from but from the north, you pick up your visa in Khartoum, takes a day. From the south, it used to be available in Nairobi, but as of last year that is no longer possible but it is possible to obtain in Harare. You'd certainly want to check here again before you get close as things are prety fluid in Africa. Happy travels. |
Hm...I am going to have to double-check. I thought my girlfriend asked whether or not we could get one in a neighboring country. It seems that is not possible, but I'll need to confirm this. I think she was told that the visa needed to be obtained in Canada.

We are meeting up with another couple (Canadian) and an American and are keeping our fingers crossed that we pick this visa up in Zim. as well.

Seems to be a very recent change. They are sending their passports to the UK to get the visa." When I was in Nairobi last year, north-bound travellers were having to courier their passports home (usually to a visa agency) and get their Ethiopian visa that way. |
