Ethiopian drivers license?
 

Hello,

Does anyone have any information on how long your IDP is valid in Ethiopia? I read in lonely planet that is only good for a week and then you have to go about the bureaucratic process of getting an actual Ethiopian drivers license.

How much of this is true?

Hi Brian

According to latest available information circulated for reference by the motoring club network, an IDP is not recognised in Ethiopia (for any period).

A visitor's licence is exchanged for an Ethiopian licence & returned on departure
(a certified copy of the foreign driving licence is accepted by the Ethiopian authorities for this exchange)
