Filming and photographing your trip challenges with locals?
 

Hi all,

Does anyone know if there are any challenges with general photography and filming of your trip in the following countries with locals and authorities:

Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Montenegro, Albania

Bulgaria, turkey, Georgia, Kazakstan, Mongolia, Russia, Azerbaijan

I am sure that you will not have any problems in those countries but just remember to be respectful and not invade someone privacy its polite to ask if the shots will be close ups.
Also be very careful if you are near border crossings, military installations, check points, police stations and mosques these can be no go areas.
A lot of people are aware of terrorist attacks now and you do not want to be mistaken for someone plotting an attack.
I have lived and worked in the Middle east for the last 6 years and you still have to be careful of what you photograph especially if the shot includes weomen and children as mothers can get very upset and then the father will join in demanding your camera with local police involved as well.
Do not walk around with loads of camera gear otherwsie you might become a target for mugging try to hide it in a small dirty rucksack not a posh camera bag.
