Foreigner buying a bike in Turkey, riding to EU countries
Hi there,
I hold an Austrlian and Polish passport, have found an awesome motorbike in Turkey. Would like to buy it and ride it across Greece and Italy into France. Please help with these questions: - can a foreigner with no Turkish residency/address buy a motorbike in Turkey? - if I can, what do I need to ride it into the EU? Insurance (if so what type)? Carnet? ANything else? Would love to hear from anyone else if you have done this trip paulrybicki@hotmail.com. Thank you very much in advance. Paul |
hi paul,
please visit http://www.turing.org.tr/ you can also write them e-mail for any question. if you having language problems i may help you. just drop me an e-mail or message via HU. but, as far as i know, you need to be a resident to buy a vehicle in Turkey, because they need an address for registration documents. you do not need carnet. insurance is compulsory. an idp (international driving permit) might be helpful. and also your passport http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/ubb/smile.gif best of luck ozhan u. ------------------ ride safely ozhan u.
