fundamental CDP question
 

OK I have looked at everything that closely resembles a CDP posting. But I still find one fundamental question. Yuu ship your bike to say New Zealand with some company and want to have your bike picked up by someone other than yourself. You have al the paperwok in place: CDP, title, etc. Can a third party pick up the bike or do you personaly have to do it?

I'd say it will be unlikely that you can do that in most countries, cause they often want to register your bike in your passport. This was the case for me in India, Pak, Iran and (I think) Nepal.

Since you mention NZ: there I wouldn't expect a problem and you don't need a carnet to boot.
