Green Card elementary question

Hey guys,
I'm currently insured with MCE, and my insurance covers EU countries as well. However, MCE say they no longer issue the Green Card; they claim I should show my standard insurance certificate at the borders.

Is that acceptable or do EU countries only recognise "Green Card" documents?

Green Card is an old & out dated term.

Any UK insurance policy you have, regardless of cover level, automatically provides you with Third Party cover in any EU state. If you want to increase the level of cover back to TPF&T or Comprehensive, that will probably cost extra. You should only need to let your insurer/broker know where & when you're going.

If you have any sort of breakdown cover (mechanical, not mental), let the provider know when & where you're going also.

I've never been issued a separate document when riding abroad. Just take all relevant documents (& copies stored separately) with you.
