Green card insurance: we are in Turkey, can we get on way in to Greece?
 

Hi everyone,
Firstly, apologies for yet another GC thread - I have been reading through a lot of them in the last couple of hours.
We are 4 NZ bikers who have arrived in Istanbul from Vladivostok. Our final destination is London, and we still need to get Green Card Insurance. We were hoping to leave Istanbul on Monday 6 September (3 days time).
Does anyone know if you can buy green card insurance that is valid in Europe on the Turkish border, heading into either Greece or Bulgaria?
I know Turkish bikers can get it on the border, but can you get it for a foreign registered bike?
Is there anywhere in Istanbul that will provide a foreign registered bike with Green Card insurance valid in Europe?

Hi Rob,

Try the Turkish AA. Failing that, the Greeks or Bulgarians will sell it at the border, since it is a requirement. Make sure to ask for it when the formalities are concluded, don't leave the border post without it.

i am sure turkish aa does not issue green card for eu. however, just in case here is the website:
