Help needed - Insurance in Europe?
Hi
I hope you can provide some :helpsmilie: regarding the above. Short version: Purchased a brand new Yamaha R1, 2008 model, in Swindon in England 2 month ago. Went to the UK in a van - picked it up and brought it back to Denmark. Now I want to take the bike on a vacation in Europe. For that purpose, I need an insurance. Trouble is, in order to get it insured in DK, the bike has to be registered here. That means, I have to pay the 180% tax that we have on automotives in our country:thumbdown: which equals to paying an additional £ 15.000,- just to get a danish license plate for the bike - that's definitely a no/go. Hence, I'd rather keep the UK registration. So, the big question is - are you familiar with any insurance companys that are able to handle a british registered bike, owned by a danish fellow, who want's to go on a vacation i Europe for a couple of weeks? Any kind of feedback will be highly appreciated. ?c? Thx. in advance. /Lars www.N69S54A.com |

The only drawback is you'd only have 3rd party cover (to be legal) but no theft cover so you'd have to weigh up the risk and possibly buy a good chain. Stephan |
I've recently insured with ebike.com and they were very flexible - have 3 bikes on the policy and 365 days cover riding in the EU.
