I'm Australian in the UK on a US bike... seems that although third-party insurance is compulsory in the UK (obviously), you can't buy it.
Four hours of phone calls and internet search yesterdat morning turned up a big fat ZERO result. Seems nobody in the UK will do a Green Card unless it's as an extension of your current policy. To get a policy with a UK company requires the bike to be UK registered. Might be possible to register the bike here but would require some creative thinking and would not be strictly legal. I thought getting insurance in Sth America was difficult! More so here. Finally went to Mototouring in Italy, 223 euro for 3 months, I paid 200 Euro for 1 month when I first arrived in Spain, so can't complain. Be aware though that they still have to deal with an insurance company, and processing can take 2-3 days. Im having difficulty purchasing liability insurance for an Ireland registered motorcycle. Apparently, this was possible not too long ago, but now.....
