Indian Visa
 

I am in the process of applying for an Indian visa. The application form states that you should include 2 referees in both the UK and India. The UK isn't a problem but the Indian ones would be. Can anyone offer any help or guidance? Do you really need the Indian referees?

I don't think that you really need the Indian referees. But since it's on the questionnaire, why not comply? Are you a British citizen? If yes, go to your gov't website, go into embassy staff abroad, and pick the names of two counsellors, with address of the embassy. The people in the emassy will never double check if the two named actually know you personally. If they would do that, they would need hundreds of employees in the Indian Embassy in GB. It always worked for me in Canada. In poker it's called a "bluff."
