Insurance requirement USA -State to State

yo all

I am planning to take my Kawi in March from Florida through the southern and south west USA into Mexico and then into the Caribean to Playa del Carmen.

The bike is registered in my name and has a Florida tilte and tag. As there is no insurance requirement in Florida, I have none. Other States on my travel route have a insurance requirement.

Question is do I need to have insurance in order to pass through some of the States on my way even in my "home" State I am not required to have insurance ?.

greetings

yes

Yes you do. You may get away with not geting any but if you get stopped then you will get some fines. Insurance is cheap on small bikes so your in luck.

You will also need it in Mexico.

Maybe.
Many states like Nevada have an insurance law that says that a motorcycle registered in that state must have insurance.
If you are stopped you will be asked for an insurance card, if you don't have one they should not be able to give you a ticket. You would have to be sure that the officer knows that.

Generally, you'll be required to have liability insurance throughout the US. If you get pulled over for any reason, the cop invariably says, "license, registration & insurance".
Only a few states do NOT require liability insurance.

Even though it may not be mandatory in Florida, it still isn't a bad idea having it. US citizens have a longstanding history of being lawsuit crazy.
