int driving licence ?????
hi all,im going to be travalling to romania,slovakia,croatia ect and have been told that my full uk licence will not be accepted/valid and that i will need a internatianal licence together with a green card for insurence, is this true ??

Welcome, much of the information you seek has alredy been answered in the past ... that is the are "Frequently Asked Questions" (FAQ). The HU FAQ answers are in the blue bar thingys along the top of the screen .. this one under "GET READY' then trip paperwork then license...

Just to answer your question, you do not need an international driving licence anywhere in the EU. Your insurer should provide up to 90 days of cover outside the UK, which should include breakdown assistance and other services, however as far as I know your insurance should provide basic third party liability throughout the EU anyway. A green card may or may not be asked for in some countries in ex yugoslavia, ( never happened to me). And some of those countries may still be crossed out on the green card, meaning that you have to buy insurance on the border (kosovo and probably Serbia)
