Leaving the US for a week and leaving bikes behind
We've shipped our UK bikes to Canada and have been riding around the States for just over a month :funmeteryes:
Next month we need to pop out to Australia for a week (long story). We'll put the bikes into storage. Does anyone know how this will affect us leaving the country temporarily without our bikes? Are we going to get problems at customs? Obviously we can show them our ownership papers, return tickets to Aus as well as probably docs proving storage. I need to book the Aus tickets very soon and I hope I'm not wasting my money! |

nothing on your passport that indicates you are leaving a bike in the US; in other words, US Customs won't even be aware of it. 2. On the other hand, I don't know what the terms of your personal VISA might be as shown on your passport; or if not a Visa, the dated US entry & exit stamps. There may (again) be no problem at all; just be sure you know the terms are of your US entry & exit--how long you are currently allowed to be in the US, and whether there are any limitations to your leaving and returning in the timeframe you need/ plan to OZ. |
Entering EU registered M/C from Canada into USA by road border crossing
Hi Bike Grrl,
Did US customs ask you an EPA form and approval letter to get admission for your M/C into the USA when crossing the CDN / USA border by road ? If not, your M/C is probably not registered to be present in the USA. If yes, did they give instructions in how to file the bike is leaving the USA again at a certain date. Which border crossing did you use when crossing from CDN into USA ? |
