Letter of invitation to Uzbekistan?
 

Looking at travel.state.gov I see I need a letter just to start the visa process. Any thoughts on who provides this service?

Many years ago, when UK citizens needed an LOI, I used Stantours. Mr Berghoff is one of THE authorities on Central Asia travel and has a very good reputation.

A LOI is not required if you are a citizen of Great Britain, USA, Austria, Belgium, Germany, Italy, France, Japan, Spain, Chech Republic and Switzerland.

Even if you don't need an LOI, it saves some time/embassy visit, as you ask for the LOI at an agency and after 2 weeks with the LOI you get your visa on the spot (all depending on the embassy where you apply). If you apply from home, you could also try to take the two visits and wait the time.
