Letter of invitation - What & how ??
I think im going to need a letter of invitation to get a Libyan and other African visas !
Never heard of this before so whats the deal ??? How do I get one ?? I'm British and live in the UK. Thanks in advance, Ted |
I dont know about Libya these days, it was over 35 years ago I had a visa for there and forget wht was requires other than I applied for it at their local Embassy in Malta while I was staying there and changed my intended direction of travel.
I know from a couple of years ago, for Kenya you 'buy' visas for at the entry border - no documentation required other than the cash! A Letter of Invitation is basically issued by a person or company within the country, confirming you are coming to see them. In Russia, the inviting person/organisation send their letter to a government office that then gives to them a formal certificate. This certificate is given to the inviting person who gets it to me and I attach it to my visa application here before I hand it in. Presumably you require something similar. There are Visa agencies who will handle all this within the total cost if you do not have the contacts. |

I did read somewhere travel agencies provide that service for a small fee in Nigeria, so maybe elsewhere too?

You will need one for Sudan. Just do it all in Cairo. Go to the UK Embassy, ask for one, maybe pay a small fee. Then take it to the Sudanese Embassy down the road and get your visa. This is helpful: Sudan Visa from Cairo
