Libreta de Paso por Aduana
i have read in AMH that riders have managed to get through central and south america without a triptico. has anyone done this recently or are doing it at present. if i can get away without going through the agro of getting a triptico i will but i dont want to get to every border crossing and have lots of delays. any info would be helpful.i am leaving in june to go alaska to patagonia.

No such thing as a triptico in that part of the world - you can use a Carnet de passage, but it's not required anywhere except shipping into Argentina and in theory shipping into Ecuador - but we have been getting people into Ecuador with the help of the local Community without a carnet. So no,
NOT required. It can be cheaper and quicker getting through many borders if you do have one, but not a huge difference. Not worth getting one specifically to save money, you won't. ------------------ Grant Johnson Seek, and ye shall find. ------------------------ One world, Two wheels. www.HorizonsUnlimited.com |
