On-line South American Bike Insurance
 

As I prepare for another trip in South Am I am again revisiting the insurance issue. I have used Motorcycle Express in the past but found them to be very very expensive. Maybe they are very good in comparison but I am looking for alternates that are available to initiate from my home in Canada prior to our departure.
I have used ATM Seguro from Arg but I understand that this may only be possible to initiate from within Arg. They were great becuase they also covered all the Mercosur countries.

We will start in Uru and travel through Arg, into Bolivia and possibly Chile.

Any ideas out there?

We use Klaus info@abgefahren.info who arranges compulsory isurance for many overlanders and his policy covers Peru, Brazil and all other countries to the south. Not the cheapest but VERY convenient

Can all be done by email but not sure if he handles bikes.

I'm getting good quotes for Mexico from MexPro. My US insurance carrier, Progressive, referred me to them. Six month policy for a BMW R1200GSA is about 180 USD at first look.

Please let us know what you come up with for further south.
