Motorcycle bought in Colombia continue to Asia
Hi everybody,
I need your help about a question that thrill me for a while. I bought a motorcycle in Colombia (ybr 125) and I'm currently going down south America to ushuya. At the begining I thought about selling the motorcycle down there but the more I think about it the more I'd like to ship it to Asia and going back home (France) with the Motorcycle. What do you think ? Paperwork , tax, difficulties ... ? |
Anybody has already done that ?

Dear topstcrat
What a small world,
U are just talking with a guy who did the same as you, planeed the same, so here are the answers: I bought a brand new apache 180 in bogota and rode 14k south to brazil. I sold it in brazil to other traveller. I will warn you in advance: it takes months to find anyone interested to buy a small bike in south america. You could sell it in luck in half price to other tourist or for parts at quarter price of the bike. The chepeast route of shipping is argentina to spain which the only agent exist and do it in argentina sit in the capital and will offer you 1380 usd for that. So is it worth it? Go back to france. Buy another bike and ride to mongolia. Its better and cheaper option. Crossing South east asia is only with the big wallet in their pants. Sky |
Thanks for the answer, after some research that was my opinion too...
