Motorcycle purchase UK
 

I am trying to work out the pros and cons of purchasing a motorcycle in the UK vs bringing one from Australia.
I live in Australia but was born in the UK I have a British passport old UK paper drivers licence wrong address know. If I bring a bike from Australia the Green Card Insurance is quite pricey also after trip what would I do with the bike it would not be worth bringing back to Australia. I am thinking of a 250 for the trans Europe trail.
As far as I can tell purchasing the motorcycle is okay getting 3 rd party insurance in my name could be a problem.
The other idea mabe is ask someone in the UK to purchase and insure in there name and I become a named driver on the insurance.
If anyone comes over to Australia it is very easy and straight forward to purchase a motorcycle which comes with liability insurance.
Any ideas would be great.

If you decide to go with purchase of the bike in UK, we're able to provide third party liability in your name. We're the only provider that is issuing the policy offering coverage also in the country where the motorcycle is going to be registered.

UK bike insurance can be a PITA for overseas riders and I think Dooby has provided a good solution, the only thing you will need is an address to register it, mucheasier and cheaper than shipping.
