North to South Africa without a carnet
 

Hey folks......is this possible??? Im not sure how far south might get and so a carnet maybe a waste of money.....

Any good ideas

Dont leave home without one. Its enough hassle at borders without providing more excuse not to assist you...surely. Its that, or pay up the import duty each time.

Mauritania yes if vehicle over 7 year old
Mali no
Niger no
Chad no, but it helps
CAR yes
Sudan yes
Uganda yes
Tanzania yes
Zambia yes
Botsva yes
SA yes

If your car is registered in SA, then you don't need a carnet for Tanz-Zam-Bots.
