Obtain a Pakistan/Iran Visa overseas - UK Citizen
Hey all,
I am currently backpacking Australia and i am in the mids of planning a bike jounery from nepal to london, i have already been in touch with ric at hearts and tears and things are looking good. i am trying to orangise a pakistan and iran visa whilst here in OZ. Does anyone know if i can apply for a visa here in oz at the countries embassys? the pakistan embassy advised me that i have to apply at the embassy in england, which beens i would have to post my passport back home OZ is this really the case? as you would all agree sending my passport back from ayers rock in oz to london seems a little worrying. i am also planning to leave nepal late october 2010 to arrive in england mid/late jan 2011 is this a good time frame or will it be rushed? cheers all. Pete from london. |
If the embassy already told you that they won't give you a visa and you have to apply at 'home' who are we to tell you otherwise? You had it from the horse's mouth.
Reading other people's posts here PAK seems to have almost turned into a no-go area, if for no other reason than it's near impossible to get a visa. |
I got told the very same thing in Bangkok and ended up getting my Pak visa in Kathmandu with no probs though this was a couple of years ago.

Thanks Guys,
MikeS do you remember how long you waited for your visa for PAK in Nepal and if it can still be done? I can't belive i have to post my passport home to london from OZ to get the visa, but i guess if thats the rules.... Cheers, Pete |
I am in oman right now, and they kicked me out of the pak embassy. Anyone knows of a recent traveller able to get the visa in tehran?

Needed a letter of no objection from the UK consulate first, then could apply for the Pak visa, it only took a couple of days.

I got my PAK visa in Abu Dhabi in 2007. I did need an LOI. |
Hi all
I went to the British Embassy in July 07 to get a Letter Of Introduction for a Pakistan visa from the Tehran consulate and ended up having a nice chat with Sandra, the consular officer we dealt with. Not currently planning to repeat the trip, but having read all the traffic on the internet recently that suggests it's no longer possible to get a Pak visa in Tehran I thought I would email Sandra to see if she knew the current state of play. Here is her response :-( I'm afraid the info is right, the Pakistan Embassy in Tehran no longer accepts applications for visas in Iran. Although their website is not up to date with this information and no official announcement has ever been made by the Embassy here, I have been told by colleagues in the Pakistan Embassy that applications for visas must be made from the country of origin. Please recommend that any prospective travellers check these details with their nearest Pakistani representative as many people have had to make major travel plan changes at the last minute. |
Sorry but i can confirm the new pakistan policy about pak visa applied abroad. since march 2010 none pakistan embassy worldwide can release pak visa to foreigners. i just went today at the pak embassy in tashkent; they rejected my request sayng; the only way to get a pak visa is in your country of origin.
... any comment? |
Maybe this has something to do with it - diplomatic tit-for-tat
Visa delays row threatens to overshadow Britain-Pakistan terror talks - Times Online Better if they take out their frustrations by making visas harder to get for the UK diplomats who are responsible for this, rather than for blameless tourists I think. |
